The judging process is essential to the success of the program and may be the most challenging of all the volunteer jobs: You must evaluate startups from diverse industries, at different stages of development, and with varying potential... All while still being (and being perceived as) fair and evenhanded.
This one-hour webinar will cover best practices in judging the competition, as well as provide an overview of the competition calendar, rules and process.
Linda Plano founded Plano & Simple in 2010 to support her habit of coaching entrepreneurs on their pitches and overall venture development.
She has coached over 1 000 mostly high-tech entrepreneurs, and they have gone on to raise well over $1 300M. She has held positions as research scientist and CEO of startups and up to VP New Biz Dev for more established companies.
Linda is a co-founder and chair of the precursor to the Cleantech Open - Northeast, and has co-founded and run a dozen major investor pitch events while Associate Director of the Mass Tech Transfer Center. She is also a co-founder and co-chair of the MITEF Mentor Smart program.
Linda has degrees from MIT (BS Physics) and Stanford (PhD Materials Science & Engineering).
